Giorgio Sabbatini, Global Director, Business Unit HVAC / Commercial Building Services at Xylem, commented: "The buildings sector accounts for about 40% of primary energy consumption, more than the transportation and industrial sectors. Our customers are looking for pumping systems that not only improve energy use in buildings, but also ensure more comfortable environments for inhabitants. To do this, we applied innovative thinking to make these systems more efficient in plumbing and HVAC applications, in turn providing environmental benefits to users of these facilities and the communities in which they operate."
ISH will serve as a global stage for several product introductions from Xylem.
- 5th generation HYDROVAR – The 5th generation HYDROVAR is an intelligent control system that accurately adapts to system demands and helps end-users realise cost and energy savings while achieving optimum system performance. The new drive and motor control can reduce the energy consumption of a pump by as much as 70 percent. Capable of running systems with up to eight pumps, the 5th generation HYDROVAR has multimaster functionality, enabling each individual pump to take control if one or more units, or sensors, are not active. This continuous booster system operation ensures reliable water pressure across various residential, industrial and commercial applications.
- Lowara ecocirc BASIC N and ecocirc XL N – Xylem recently extended the Lowara ecocirc wet rotor circulator pumps for domestic hot water operation, by introducing the new ecocirc BASIC N and updating the ecocirc XL N range. The new pump housing of both the ecocirc BASIC N and ecocirc XL N is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, combining high hydraulic performance with safe operation when potable water is involved.
- Lowara “Smart Pump” range – The Lowara “Smart Pump” range is a complete, single phase pump range fitted with the latest high efficiency permanent magnet motor technology for residential, commercial and OEM market applications. Pre-programmed packages decrease installation and commissioning costs, resulting in significantly reduced life cycle costs. A smart, easy-to-set integrated drive can operate in sensored or sensorless mode and in single, twin or multi-pump systems of up to three pumps, with no need for an external control panel or a PLC. The drive also includes BACnet or Modbus and Wi-Fi as options.
- Lowara e-MP series multistage pump – The Lowara e-MP series is a line of highly efficient and multistage pumps that deliver powerful solutions for diverse applications in the industrial, utility, agricultural and building services segments. The advanced hydraulics of the e-MP are optimized by computational fluid dynamics calculations that improve efficiency to reduce life cycle costs and energy demand. The e-MP boasts an impressive range, capable of flows up to 850 cubic meters per hour and heads up to 950 meters in both horizontal and vertical configurations. It handles a variety of pumped liquids – including water, lubricants, solvents and oil – from minus 25 degrees Celsius to 180 degrees Celsius.
Also during ISH Xylem will host its second Waterdrop draw event enabling nine customers from the U.K., Germany and France to go on a volunteer trip to Asia later this year. Waterdrop is a first-of-its-kind loyalty program that enables consulting engineers to bring safe, clean water to communities in need by learning about, selecting or specifying Xylem products and services. For every drop, or loyalty point, Xylem donates $1 (USD) to build water towers for people who lack access to safe drinking water. Each drop also serves as an entry into a drawing to win the experience of a lifetime – a volunteer trip to construct and install water towers at various locations around the world.
