Ann-Sofie is an established name at Barco,” says Supplier Ruud Brosens, Associate Director Belgium and Luxemburg at AirPlus International. “Since she joined the company eleven years ago, she has consistently worked on improving the company’s travel program. When doing so, she never loses her travelers out of sight: Ann-Sofie automates the complete end-to-end flow to make it as easy as possible for her travelers AND uses the necessary duty of care tools to keep her travelers safe.”
Ann-Sofie started her career at Starwood Hotel Brussels, where she was Sales & Marketing Assistant. After a passage at Bombardier Transportation and Secretary Plus Direct Team as Executive Assistant, she started out at Barco in 2007. Barco is a Kortrijk-based company specialized in displays. In the past, Ann-Sofie was consecutively Travel Coordinator and Contract Buyer and is now Barco’s Procurement Executive.
For over fifteen years, BATM has been connecting Belgian travel managers and has more than 150 members. Each year, the association organizes four conferences during which it explains new technologies and gives travel managers the opportunity to exchange ideas about the everyday issues they face in their profession. “For example, we’ve organized an educational forum about big data and reinventing managed travel programs this year,” says BATM President Pascal Struyve. “Because the business travel industry is constantly changing, it’s a necessity for travel managers to be up-to-date with the newest developments. That’s what we do at our conferences: participants could, for example, brainstorm on specific ideas to reinvent their company’s travel program during our educational forum on travel programs.”
